This year 2019, various situations have occurred in the digital field that have been changing the rules of the game. Among them, there are new advertising formats, platforms list of belarus consumer email venturing into other businesses, prohibitions on industries, emerging social networks, among many others.

For this reason, I want to share with you some personal opinions on what could happen in 2020, according to some of the news that has attracted the most attention this year.

Facebook Libra
The cryptocurrency announced by Facebook started off very strong, being endorsed by various international banking institutions, in an attempt to regain people's trust in the face of the controversies arising from the misuse of data with Cambridge Analytica. However, over time, some abandoned the project, such as eBay, Mastercard, Paypal, among others.

In theory, the cryptocurrency is scheduled to start working during 2020, but, in my opinion, its use will be mainly by Facebook advertisers, since, in an attempt to boost it, they are likely to offer a greater reach in paid advertising with Libra. This could be seen by investors worldwide, increasing its value, but, I repeat, this is just my opinion, it should not be taken as a fact.

Twitter bans political advertising
Recently, Twitter founder Jack Dorsey mentioned that political advertising will be banned , causing quite a stir and putting pressure on other platforms, mainly Facebook. There were even American politicians who mocked, incredulously, claiming that the investment in this industry was quite high, to which they responded that it was not even more than 10%.

Spotify joined in on December 27, also eliminating political advertising in the United States. And it is believed that it will probably continue in the rest of the world, where many are waiting for other networks such as YouTube, Facebook and LinkedIn to join, but they have not yet mentioned anything about it.

But, returning to Twitter, what will happen in 2020? Probably, once advertising is banned, a next step would be to avoid trending topics related to politics, especially because they are often done with fake accounts and with the intention of making people think that many people "naturally" support a public figure.

So if you find yourself doing something related, you better strive to have real followers who actually support the ideology and not a farm of bots that are paid just to tweet and generate a false trend.

Google Lead Forms
Although the Lead Forms format or forms for generating leads are not new and have been widely used by Facebook, Twitter and recently by LinkedIn, the one developed by Google is currently in beta in various countries to see how it works.

I recently had the opportunity to try them out and, although it is easy to use, it is still very limited in terms of connection to databases and usability; and since it is in the testing phase, it can only be used as an extension.

However, I think that if it were possible to use these forms by clicking on the ad as such, it could have better results, since the easier you allow the user to share their information, the better results you will get.

I have no doubt that this option will soon be used, because at least in my experience, as an extension I have not obtained good results.

Tik Tok on the rise
The social network that has seen the greatest growth this year has undoubtedly been Tik Tok , with a format similar to Vine, with short videos, with the difference that you can do a kind of sync with songs.

The growth of this platform makes perfect sense considering the ages of most of its users, that is, teenagers under 21 years old. Let's remember that Facebook grew with people of those ages, however, those of us who started with them have grown and adopted other social networks, such as Twitter, LinkedIn, Pinterest, Instagram, Snapchat, among others.

My prediction for this platform is that it will be bought by Facebook, since, at this moment, Tik Tok has the audience that they lack: the youngest. Currently, if you advertise to young people on Facebook, you probably won't get the best results, so to continue being present in the digital sphere, I see this acquisition as quite likely.

In conclusion, big changes are coming this year 2020, so it is very important to keep up to date with the news to know what opportunities are coming and to be able to capitalize on them to the maximum, so that you stay present in the most appropriate way with your audience.
