Your personal content plan

Post by arzina544 »

It is as Frank Peters puts it in his book ' Reputation management for everyone ': It is about doing the right thing, even when others are not looking. That must be honest and authentic. The ikigai gives you the tools to find your own 'I' and to constantly put that into practice (forward). You now know what your unique selling points are. You have defined your mission or even purpose. That is a perfect basis to profile and position yourself, without bragging.

If you have things in order now and are ready to increasingly reach out, it is wise to do this systematically. Do you already have your own website? Do you write a weekly or monthly blog on it? Do you want to share your expertise via social media platforms? It is all possible. But do it like everything else: consistently, authentically (by staying close to your own 'I') and also systematically. It may be important to first just look around on the different channels. Whether that is on LinkedIn - the largest platform for professionals - or, if more suitable for you or your market, for example Pinterest, TikTok or Instagram. The choice of platform is very important, because the adage the medium is the message still applies to personal branding.

Next, you decide what you want to say. Which themes will be the cornerstones of your positioning? And in what form are you going to present them? It is important for your personal branding (just like when you communicate on behalf of a company) to set up a serious content plan. This provides support, overview and structure. It prevents you from thinking on Thursday just before lunch: "Oh yes, I still have to think of something to post." In practice, this is usually not the beginning of a success story. The first impression: your profile picture
If you google personal branding, you will get a series of advertisements in front of you for workshops and courses to help you in a few days. Sometimes including clothing and make-up advice (the latter also for men). Perhaps that is a bit too much for you. Then you save that for a later stage. However, you only have one chance to make a first impression. And what do people see first of you when they look at your profile? That's right: the profile picture. Perhaps something to pay some attention to. Because if you still have that holiday photo there or something that is out of focus or poorly lit, it is time for action. A nice tool for a 'zero measurement' of your profile picture is Photofeeler .
