Forced to have an equality plan
Until the approval of the equal employment decree, only companies with more than 250 employees were required to have an equality plan. However, following the approval of this law, companies with more than 50 employees are now required to draw up one.

Deadlines for developing the equality plan
Following the approval of the decree law, companies have different deadlines depending on their size:

Companies with more than 250 employees must already have an equality plan.
Companies with 151 to 250 employees will have until March 6, 2020, at the latest to prepare and begin implementing the plan.
For those with 101 to 150 employees, the deadline is March 6, 2021.
Those with between 50 and 100 employees will be required to prepare the plan and carry it out starting March 7, 2022.
What should the equality plan include?
According to the Organic Law on Equality, when preparing their equality plans, companies must include the following , as highlighted in article 46.2 of said law:

In addition to the obligation for companies to implement equality plans, 2020 has seen a further step towards equalising maternity and paternity leave . Specifically, fathers will enjoy 12 weeks of paternity leave this year, which will be 16 weeks in 2021, thus equalling the leave already enjoyed by mothers.

In short, improved equality policies in companies will be more reassuring for workers, as it will tend to reduce discrimination and improve the balance between family and work life, among other things. This will, in turn, lead to greater commitment on the part of employees.
